Do I still need insurance if I sign up for DirectMed?

According to the Affordable Care Act, all US citizens should have catastrophic health insurance.  High deductible plans are a great supplement to Direct Primary Care and covers you and your family for catastrophic events. This type of insurance will help cover services that DirectMed cannot provide, such as hospitalizations, surgeries and other catastrophic events.

 

 

 

Can I use my insurance to pay for labs and imaging?

Yes, however, DirectMed is not responsible for payments not covered by your insurance company.  DirectMed has negotiated cash-pay rates with local lab and imaging centers so that paying cash for these services is very affordable.

 

 

 
Can I submit my DirectMed bill to my insurance for reimbursement?

Yes. DirectMed will be more than happy to provide you with what is called a Superbill.  This document contains all the necessary coding information required for you to submit for reimbursement from your insurance company per the the guidelines of your plan.  

 

 

 
Can I use HSA and/or FSA money to pay for my visit?

Yes.  DirectMed accepts HSA and FSA funds as a form of payment, however, it is the responsibility of the patient to ensure eligibility of use in accordance with IRS guidelines.
